Hello, everyone, and Merry Christmas to all! Or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or Yule, or… Basically, whichever winter solstice holiday you happen to celebrate, I hope you have a happy that! And what better way to celebrate the holidays by talking about some damn Christmas music? Only, this isn’t like any Christmas music you’ve ever heard.

Sure, it’s got plenty of the old Christmas standards you know and love (or maybe hate due to how POLARizing Christmas music tends to be), as well as a couple of original tracks, but something about these bleepy 8-bit-esque holiday tunes just seems… off. For one, everything here is a little off-key and out of tune. And audio glitches abound, from audio skips to random spikes in volume to scratchy tape hiss. Then there are tracks which feature excessive repetition. And songs will just derail into sheer messy cacophony. Not to mention the songs have a sparse, empty vibe. It’s very unsettling, and the ominous overtone might just give you not-so-merry nightmares.

It’s like waking up Christmas morning, and something is different about your family. Maybe mom’s normally green eyes are now blue. Maybe your little brother has been using his right hand when he’s always been left-handed. Maybe grandma is speaking with an odd robotic inflection. And all of them might be flashing unnaturally wide smiles, but their eyes are cold and full of hatred. And you just know, they all want you dead.

Happy holidays, everyone!
